DRIVEWAY PERMIT: In accordance with Ohio Revised Code Section 5543.16, property owners are required to construct driveways and to keep driveways and approaches in repair and in working condition, under the direction of the County Engineer. Effective January 1, 1993, the Ashland County Engineer issues permits for driveways and ditch enclosures along county roads. Application shall be made on right-of-way work permit Form D.P.-4. There is no permit fee. The property owner or agent must clearly mark the location of the proposed driveway or limits of ditch enclosure. The proposed site will be inspected to determine the size of culvert, if required, and for adequate sight distance.

UTILITY PERMIT: To receive necessary permit for underground telephone, television, gas lines or other utilities along county roads, Application shall be made on right-of-way work permit Form D.P.-4 and must include drawings/plans for the Engineer's review and records.  There is no permit fee.

SPECIAL HAULING PERMIT: Pursuant to Section 4513.34 of the Ohio Revised Code, all individuals, firms, partnerships, companies or corporations wishing to operate or move a vehicle or combination of vehicles of a size or weight of vehicle or load exceeding the maximum specified in Sections 5577.01 to 5577.09 of the Ohio Revised Code on any or all Ashland County maintained highways must obtain a SPECIAL HAULING PERMIT. Application forms and information on the policies and procedures for the issuance of SPECIAL HAULING PERMITS are available in the Ashland County Engineer's Office.  There is no permit fee at this time.
