It has the authority to make studies, plans, recommendations, and reports concerning the physical, social, environmental, and economic characteristics, functions, services and other aspects of Ashland County.
The Planning Department performs administrative duties on behalf of the Planning Commission. The Planning Commission meets once a month on the second Wednesday at 7:00 P.M. in the Lower Level Meeting Room of the Ashland County Office Building unless otherwise noted.
The membership of the Planning Commission is composed of the Board of Ashland County Commissioners (3), or their alternates, and eight (8) other County residents, or their alternates, appointed by the Board of Commissioners, for a total of eleven (11) Commission members.
The members also make up Task Forces, which are designed to target a specific issue and report back to the rest of the Commission.
