The Ashland County Engineer oversees the
County Road Closings
UPDATE: A portion of County Road 1600 in Montgomery Township remains closed for a bridge replacement. The road is closed between County Road 1775 and Township Road 655. Estimated reopening date is now June 22.
NEW: A portion of Township Road 555 in Vermillion Township will be closed Monday, June 8th through Tuesday, June 9th for a culvert replacement. The road will be closed overnight between County Road 2000 and County Road 30A. More specifically between house # 2000 and house # 1984. It is anticipated that the road will reopen by the end of the day on Tuesday, June 9th.

Pavement Marking - 2026
Description: Annual – Placement of pavement markings on all Ashland County-maintained roads.
Funding: 100% Local funds
Estimated construction timeframe: Summer – Fall 2026
Work to be performed by JD Striping & Services chosen by competitive bid process.
Sealing - 2026
Description: Annual Project Applying Liquid Asphalt and Stone
Funding: 100% Local funds
Estimated construction timeframe: Summer 2026
Work to be performed by Sarver Paving Co. chosen by competitive bid process.
Traffic will be maintained at construction sites.

Bridge 1550-50
Description: Replacement. Complete road closure, detours will be marked.
Location: Township Road 1550 east of Township Road 65 in Perry Township
Estimated construction timeframe: 120 day closure
Funding: 95% State Funds, 5% Local Funds
Work to be performed by a Contractor determined by competitive bid process.

Funding: 100% HSIP funds first $300,000; 100% Local funds any over $300,000
Estimated construction timeframe: Summer 2029
Work to be performed by a Contractor determined by competitive bid process.
Traffic will be maintained at construction sites.
Most sites will be affected for less than 1 day.
